Thank you so much for your interest in a custom piece! I am only able to take a certain amount of custom orders at any given time as every piece is entirely handmade by myself in my home studio. Please reach out 6 to 8 weeks in advance for special gifts. You can find images of my previous work via instagram or browse my shop for ideas.
The more information you can provide, the more accurately I can quote you. No worries if you don't have everything nailed down yet--just let me know what you've got in mind so far :)
Some things to take into consideration:
What custom piece are you interested in having me create?
Please keep in mind I cannot exactly replicate another artists work. Please take a look at my shop and instagram to get a good feel for my style and for inspiration
Are you looking for a ring, bracelet (bangle or cuff), necklace, earrings? If its a ring or bracelet, do you know your size? What kind of metal do you have in mind? Does it have gemstones, if so, do you know which kind?
Other things to consider, will this piece be worn daily? What type of lifestyle do you lead? Do you work out? Do you sleep and shower in your jewelry? Do you garden? These things need to be considered so I can ensure your piece will last a lifetime and then some.
Do you have images for inspiration? Please email them to me @ firstname.lastname@example.org
The more details the better. We will need to discuss all the details. For gemstones, consider type, shape, size, type of metal, additional special details. The more details you can provide, the faster I can quote you on your special design.
Most of my rings cannot be resized with out having to remake the setting entirely so please keep this in mind. I do have ring sizers available for purchase in my shop or I would be happy to provide one free of charge upon receiving deposit for custom work.
What is your budget?
Most custom pieces generally range between $200 to $1000 depending on materials used. Many factors go into the cost of custom pieces. By providing me with a budget, I have a better understanding of what you are looking for and makes it easier for me to provide a quote.
Engagement rings generally begin at $1000. Precious gems such as diamonds, sapphires, rubies can range greatly in price. If there is a range in budget this will increase your options for quality of gems. I have many small diamonds and sapphires in stock and have some gem dealer contacts to work with for specific requests ( i.e. size, shape, color, etc.)
If your budget is less for an engagement ring, still please reach out. I generally can work something out as long as I have a specific budget.
For engagement or wedding rings that will be worn daily, I do highly recommend diamonds, sapphires or rubies as these stones are harder and can withstand the constant wear. Some gems require more care than others. I can share some other options as well but keep in mind that daily wear will damage softer stones like turquoise, citrine, amethyst or opal. Those stones are fine for rings that are worn and removed daily. These stones can get scratched, cracked and even break if not properly cared for. I recommend removing rings with these types of stones for any kind of strenuous activity like working out or even gardening, as well as showering, washing dishes and at bedtime. You can choose any stone you would like but please keep these factors in mind and know that over time the stone may need to be replaced, often at the cost of a new stone and setting.
What metal do you have in mind?
I am accepting work for sterling silver, 14k-24k yellow or rose gold, 18k palladium white gold (nickle free). I love mixing silver and gold as I find it aesthetically pleasing, is budget friendly and is said to be good luck ;).
Please keep in mind that I do not plate or send my work out to be plated. Many people think of white gold as having a bright white color similar to silver, that is rhodium plated. Actual white gold is a very pale yellowish color and I think it is beautiful on its own! Plating is only temporary and wears off over time from daily wear.
When do you need your custom piece by?
My turn around time is generally 4 weeks for custom work but can take up to 12 weeks depending on the time of year, materials needed for the piece and complexity of the design. Once we begin a consult for a custom piece, I will have a general idea for a time frame. If a piece is a rush order I will charge a Rush fee and that depends on the materials needed.
Most engagement or wedding rings will take minimum of 6 weeks to complete. If there are any delays, I will contact you immediately.
I require a deposit of $50 at the time of consult which is non refundable, my time is valuable and I strive to provide excellent customer service. Then half the final cost is required before I begin creating your one of a kind design, ( the $50 consult deposit will be credited towards your final price). Please feel free to reach out with basic questions. If a design requires a consult then a consult deposit is required. A lot of time goes into creating special custom pieces from communication, design process, reserach, pricing and photography. The deposit ensures quality in not only the piece but in customer service as well.
Final payment is due upon delivery. I will not deliver without final payment. Payment can be made in cash, check or credit card. I can create a custom listing in my shop, take paypal or venmo. A paypal account is not required to make a payment via paypal, all major credit cards are accepted.
Email is the best way to communicate with me during the process. Please allow up to 2 days for me to respond as I have many hats to wear and do a lot of juggling. There are many moving parts to my business as well as my life. It takes a lot of time to create and communicate with customers. Custom projects do tend to take a lot of communication so please keep that in mind.
I absolutely love creating special one of a kind pieces for YOU! Please understand if you are on a very tight budget, it is probably best for you to purchase a made to order or ready to ship piece in my shop.
THANK YOU! For your interest and support!
